Whooper Swan

The silent journey of the swans. It is a captivating sight when a flock of swans flies silently overhead in the quiet of early northern winter. The Whooper Swan design, created by Minna Niskakangas, depicts the large wings of our national bird, carrying them to the warmth of the south, while we are left to enjoy the atmospheric twilight of the polar night. The design was originally painted with ink on wet paper.
