Tehdas 50 Vuotta Studio Candelabra
Hands on clay, already 50 years.
Over the years, the Posio ceramics factory has been visited by promising and talented young ceramists at the beginning of their careers. This year, the factory turns 50 years old, and to celebrate, we're launching a small batch of multifunctional candelabra vases, made using the same classic ceramics-making method as some of Pentik's ceramics 50 years ago - the wheel throwing.
In the 1970s, two young ceramists, Michael Roche and Kent Herschleb, arrived at Pentik's factory in Posio and made, among other things, the Tunturikukka. The Tehdas 50 vuotta (Factory 50 Years) Studio candelabra is a contemporary version of a product made 50 years ago. It was designed and sculpted by Arsenii Chuvaev, who learned ceramics in Posio during his secondary school studies and later went on to study design at Aalto University. This autumn, he returned to the factory to do his internship and make the multifunctional candelabra vases he designed to celebrate the ceramics factory's anniversary.
The Tehdas 50 Vuotta Studio Candelabra can hold five dinner candles and measures 24 cm in height. Each candelabra is numbered. As the product is handmade and the holes for the candle are unique, in some cases the candle may need to be secured with foil. The products are unique, so their appearance may vary slightly from the piece shown in the picture.
