A pottery workshop at Anu and Topi Pentikäinen’s home was the starting point of Pentik. Today, Pentik employs about 250 people with offices in Posio and Helsinki and stores in 38 cities around Finland. Our stores cover the whole of Finland, spreading from southern Helsinki to northern Pello. We are the largest private employer in Posio with our ceramics factory, candle workshop, logistics center, office and factory store. The expertise in ceramics is something we are very proud of and we want to continue the production in Finland for decades to come.
Many of our employees have been with us for a long time, even decades. It’s an important expression of trust to have people commit to the company long-term. Equality, a strong team spirit and the desire to move forward supporting each other are an essential part of our corporate culture. We are happy to see that we are on a great level when it comes to these according to our latest personnel survey. But we know that taking care of our personnel is also a matter of continuous development.
In addition to providing even lifelong careers, we want to give opportunities to young people, providing responsible first jobs. Our goal in the next 5 years is to offer the best employment experience at a first job. We are also happy to offer opportunities for on-the-job learning.
Working in a responsible and sustainable manner is something we take pride in. Our sustainability work is overseen by our company's Board of Directors and is implemented by our Management Team, including Riikka Wulff, CEO, Luisa Laine, Design and Product Director, Minna Lampinen, Marketing Director, Carola Rahkola, Human Resources Manager and Sami Karjalainen, E-Commerce Manager.

Made in Posio - Supporting sustainable travel
We value our roots in Posio and we actively work in co-operation with the municipality of Posio, local communities and companies to do our part in ensuring sustainable travel and tourism. Our goal is to support the vitality of the area by creating jobs and to offer unique experiences to visitors, highlighting the cultural heritage of the area.
As a token of this valuable and long-term work for sustainable tourism, the Pentik-mäki Culture Centre was awarded with Green Key and Sustainable Travel Finland labels in 2020. Green Key is the leading eco-label in the tourism industry. We are committed to raising environmental awareness among our employees and customers, improving the efficiency of energy and water usage and reducing the environmental impact of our operations. We are also involved in the Sustainable Travel Finland program developed by Visit Finland, which helps us to work even more towards sustainable tourism through our operations and the choices we make. We believe that small actions make a big difference.
Towards a more sustainable tomorrow
We work in co-operation with several stakeholders and want to be known as a fair and reliable partner. In addition to our customers and personnel, our important stakeholders include retailers, suppliers, service providers, schools and educational institutions, municipalities and cities, media, and various associations and organizations.
Respecting human rights and sustainable way of working are an essential part of our value chain. It is important for us to know our supply partners. When signing an agreement, our suppliers also commit to the Pentik Social Responsibility program, requiring suppliers to respect the fundamental rights and working conditions of employees required by the ILO and the UN.
