Helmililja Coated Runner

Springtime delights.
When the first bulbous plants emerge from the still partly frozen ground in early spring, a smile comes to even the most winter-weary faces. Their small, cheerful-looking flowers bring with them a huge amount of joy and inspiration. Minna Niskakangas painted the Helmililja pattern using the traditional tempera technique, in which egg is used as a binding substance for the colours. This painting technique, familiar from icon painting, is characterised by a subtle translucency that creates extremely beautiful, delicate details. 

The light blue Helmililja acrylic coated table runner measures 45x160 cm. Machine-washable in 40 degrees with gentle program.
