Hiillos Blanket

The charcoal-black, graphic blanket is a striking detail in living room décor and keeps you warm on chilly evenings. There's nothing quite like the feeling of wrapping yourself up in a blanket and relaxing. The black blanket of the Hiillos-series measures 130x170 cm and is made of 64% wool, 24% cotton and 15% nylon.

Sometimes design is born in the heat of the sauna. Designer Minna Niskakangas got her inspiration for the Hiillos (Ember) pattern from the glowing embers and black ashes in the sauna stove. The pattern's journey to fabric began in a stone lithography workshop that our designers visited. The soft shapes in the pattern were painted with a pastry brush onto limestone, from which professional printers created printing plates. The resulting prints were scanned and simplified into a modern pattern suitable for textiles.
